Wine Tasting At The Finger Lakes, NY

I recently had a weekend getaway to the Finger Lakes in NY. I must say, the Lakes are truly spectacular...and the Wine tasting was a very new experience for me. I learned some very interesting and useful information about wine. I thought you just chilled the bottle, popped the cork and enjoyed...I was very much enlightened and educated with this adventurous weekend. Unfortunately, I had to pace myself and visit only the Wineries on the top of my list, due to the fact, I wanted to purchase a bottle of every single wine I tasted. The First stop was to Dr. Konstantin Frank's Winery and Homestead. This link will take you to his website... http://drfrankwines.com/

The home shown is Dr. Frank's homestead. His 82 year old daughter occupies the family home during the summer months. When I took this picture she was still in residence. The winery is now third generation and growing with every passing year. The day we visited, 3,000 visitors were expected for that single day....

The view from the winery was breath taking.....

Life Long Friends....Truly

Friends....what does that word mean to you? The word "friends" to me is, my best friend Kathy. Who I can always count on having a good laugh with, to the point where you have to stop and breathe, who knows what I am thinking before I do, will answer before I ask the question. Has been there for me when I needed her to be and when I didn't....It also means to me, the lovely ladies in the Photo.

I have know some of these gals since my early Elementary years. Some from only High School, but none the less, a long time. I would consider them, "Life Long Friends"....that has such a wonderful ring to it. Yesterday we had one of our gatherings in our hometown park in Lititz, PA. It was a beautiful early Fall Day. We could not have asked for a more serene day, as the temperatures were a bit cool but soon gave way to a warmer afternoon. Some of the ladies pictured I have not seen in over 20 years, but have recently reconnected via the internet. One would never have known we had not seen one another in such a very long time. Our conversations soared very quickly as if no time between had passed and it was just yesterday we had been students at Warwick High. I think we all would agree we came away, like we always do with an appreciative feeling of....Life Long Friends.

As I was saying my Good-byes for the day, my cell phone rang.. it was my " best" friend Kathy. What a beautiful day spent with...."Friends"!!

Skywatch Friday

Below is a picture at dusk at Speedwell Lake in Lititz, Pa. I stopped by this lake on my way home from Lancaster, Pa. this past Sunday night and just happened to have my camera with. The pinks and blues in this evening sky was beautiful reflecting on the Lake....

FAMILY....A Beautiful Word To Be Treasured

I recently spent some time in Texas with my oldest brother's family. I am pictured to the right with my Niece Shayna and Nephews Keegan(little guy) and Seth. Notice who is smiling and who is not. Keegan was not happy to be sitting still and Seth, well as you can see, he's not camera shy. The time spent with my family in Texas always proves to be way too short. As the kiddos grow older, it is so hard to leave and live such a distance from them. Family has always been important and as the years pass, I find time is too short and distance is too long.....

My niece playing in her Soccer Tournament in Dallas, TX.

Keegan helping with the laundry chores. This was just too precious to not take a picture of. He is such a busy little guy with a great disposition...

To the Left, Seth is practicing his Soccer moves and Keegan had the honors of eating the Peanut Butter Icing from the beaters from Aunt K's chocolate cake. I have such great childhood memories and I only hope when my nieces and nephews remember theirs, it's with a smile and a laugh or two when they think of their Aunt K.....
