MiniPies In A Jar

I have been wanting to make these pies using
a mason jar for quite sometime...
Just did not have the time:/

I gradually collected my supplies
and ingredients needed...

I am the "Freezer Queen"
I am always thinking a head what can be made with
leftover ingredients I use when preparing a
meal or new dish...

I had dough frozen, each ball was large
enough for one 8-9" pie.

I had fresh blueberries frozen in small individual plastic
bags, ready to be added to whatever my fancy would be
at the time needing blueberries..

I always have apples on hand and cherry pie filling...
You just never know..!!?

I picked up three packages of four Mini Mason Jar sets
over the past several months...

So, when the time and mood allowed,
I was ready..!!


I was able to get four jars filled with each ball of rolled dough,
not bad considering...then I generously placed the dough
inside the jars.

Added the fruit, topped off with a butter crumb top
and then placed the decorated lids on...

It was that simple..

The lids are decorated with labels I downloaded
a while back from
http://www.ourbestbites.com/

I cut out some round circles from holiday material
I had on hand, glued the material to the flat lid
and then glued the label with instructions on top
of the material. The label can be removed with
the material still intact, which will allow
the jar to be used as a decorative piece to display
or store something else in...

The jars were then placed in a box with low sides
and placed in my deep freezer for deep freezing...
I will add one or two to gift packages
I always give out for the holidays..
Having them frozen will allow travel time to and from..
They can be taken directly from the freezer
to the oven and baked at 375 for 45 minutes/until golden
brown and inside center is bubbling...

Cookies In A Jar...

I found a great way to make baked goods
and keep for future use and or for
Gift Giving...

I have been searching for a "fun" way to send my homemade
goodies I make from my homein Pennsylvania...
to my brother's family in Texas.

At last I have found it..!!

Cookies in a jar...
A Mason Jar that is!

You make your favorite recipe and follow
this simple and easy way of making your own
cookies in a jar..

I used half pint regular mouth size jars for my
cookies in this post...

Wash and dry jars. Boil the tops and leave in hot water until
you apply them to the jars after baking...

Pre heat oven to 325
Spray inside of jars with your favorite non stick baking spray..

Fill jars a little more than quarter fullPlace on jelly roll pan or baking pan and place in oven.

Bake for approximately 7-10 minutes or until the center
springs back when slightly touched..

Remove from oven and immediately place flat top onto
jar and close tight with outer ring.
The jars will be very hot and the lids will become hot when they come in
contact with the jars, be careful when handling and applying lids.

You will hear a popping sound as the jars cool, this indicates
the jars are sealing as they should.
After the jars are cool,
tighten them again.

Store in a cool dry place until your ready to serve
or give as a gift.

Because the jar is sealed, the cake keeps indefinitely.
It can be made well ahead of the holidays..

I created and printed out a label
which I attached to the outside of the jar using a glue stick

I also included a tub of Betty Crocker Icing
and sprinkles in fall colors so each can
create their own master piece..

Today I am Giving Thanks for the wonderful gifts God has giving me....
When I put my mind and energies into a project I am usually very pleased at the outcome.
Chocolate Covered Pretzel Sticks were one of several projects for this past week.
I try to do these little projects before the craziness of the Holidays start, so when I prepare my gift baskets I have the homemade items I decided to include in this year's Gift Baskets...
